A modular system can be assembled on-site and applied over the top of an already existing rooftop structure. Generally, a modular system can be used on sites where craning soil may be difficult or expensive, and may be more economical in smaller projects, like terraces or in residential applications.
The TectaGreen Modular is the only modular system designed to retain large amounts of water, helping to manage stormwater runoff and is a low impact development solution. Anticipate 1.35” water retention from module, over 2” total.
For extensive vegetated roofs, both continuous installation and modular systems use drought-tolerant plants, usually succulents, and lightweight growing media which is blended and engineered for vegetative roofs.
