This lightweight green roof system
is comprised of organic and inorganic growth media and specially
selected hardy, low-maintenance plants. An extensive green roof
is primarily implemented for environmental and economic purposes
and typically adds a weight of only 16 – 35 lbs/ sq ft
when fully saturated. After installation, planting, and maintenance
the first year, ongoing care typically consists of only two
visits per year to weed invasive plant species and conduct safety
and membrane inspections. |
